PowerBook G4
Whilst the PowerBook range of laptops were not strictly MacBooks they still come under the same umbrella of Apple laptop products. They were the prelude to the newer MacBook Pro range and were aimed at business and professional users.
The PowerBook G4 was completely redesigned in 2000 and launched in January 2001. The new PowerBook featured a titanium skinned case and a 15.2" widescreen. It was heralded as "the first supercomputer you can actually take with you on an airplane." It was far lighter than most PC based laptop computers and the battery life far outstripped the PC's due to the PowerPC chipset. The G4 quickly became the fashion musthave die to it's elegant design previously unseen in laptop guise. In 2004 2 more screens came out giving them the worlds largest laptop screen at 17 inches and a dainty travel sized 12.1 inch version.
