I personally own a 13" MacBook Pro. Since I spend a lot of time travelling my Dell 15" Inspiron was getting to heavy, weighing in at nearly 8lbs! When it comes to buying a used MacBook online there are a few simple rules you should follow, especially if you are buying from an auction site such as eBay. Follow these steps to ensure you do not become a victim of on line fraud.
- Look at the Title - Is it full of mistakes? A Warning sign.
- Check Sellers Feedback - Are they a regular trustworthy seller?
- Pictures - Are they stock Apple images, or real images of the item for sale
- Location - Can you call and speak to them, do they sound legitimate?
- Price - Is it to low? Things that seem too good to be true, you know the rest...
Overall please be vigilant, does the seller have a reason for selling their MacBook Pro? Have they upgraded to a new one or desperate to sell to raise money, desperate people do stupid things like try to rip people off don't become a victim of that. Above all else dont buy the cheapest one you see, shop around, there are plenty of 13" MacBook Pro laptops for sale on eBay, be sensible and don't jump in! Whilst the above might seem like a warning not to buy a used MacBook please don't be put off, I would stick my neck on the line and say that 99% of the sellers on eBay are legitimate and have good reasons for selling. Be clever and outsmart the fraudsters, i'm sure you won't be disappointed at your purchase!
