One of the best ways to protect your apple Macbook is buy buying a protective casing, these are thin clip on protective casings that stop anything nasty from damaging your pride and joy.
I'm kind of anal when it comes to protecting my Macbook, not only do i have one of the crystal hard shell cases but i have a neoprene sleeve as well as a swanky leather carry case. You can never protect you Macbook casing enough in my eyes, I've seen some battered sorry looking Macbooks, not only do they look ugly but when you want to trade up to a newer one you have lost some of the value!
