MagSafe Power Adapters
The MagSafe power connector pins are designed so that the rectangular connector can be inserted in either orientation. LEDs on both sides show green if the computer batteries are fully charged and amber if they are charging.
MagSafe power supplies can be found on the new MacBook Pro, MacBook and MacBook Air laptop computers.
I bought a spare adapter as a precaution, I have this propensity to lose things, I leave them behind in hotels and cafes. It happens..... a lot. Anyway, for the small price they are it's worth buying one, nothing irritates me more than being without a computer for a couple of days. I have one put away in a cupboard wrapped up ready for the next time I lose one!!
Although the 60W MacBook and 85W MacBook Pro MagSafe connectors are the same, Apple recommends using only the power rating that is provided with the laptop. The MacBook Air has a smaller 45W MagSafe adapter that is similar to the larger ones.
